La Pasion
New York, NY - Cellist Wendy Law, who is
currently in the prestigious Artist Diploma Program at the Juilliard School, will be
presenting "La Pasión", as part of "Voyage To The Exotics Series" on
December 3 at 8pm in Paul Hall, the Juilliard School. "La Pasión" marks the debut
of the Series. The program focuses on music with Spanish and South American influences. It
explores sounds from the ancient Latin Amiercan world - Ginastera, the passion of the Tango
- Piazzolla, the unique rhythms of Spanish dances and songs - Cassado, Prestini, and Falla.
There are new collaborations with piano, guitars, voice, film, and dance.
Special guests include guitarists Adam Brown and Yaniv Attar, pianist Ying-Chien Lin,
soprano Shalanda Bond and more. We will be featuring new work written for Wendy Law by
composer Paola Prestini: a premiere written for the occasion, and "Oceano" with
original VisionIntoArt film; additionally, exciting young choreographers will interpret
Piazzolla's "Tango". Tickets are not required for this event. Further information

"Voyage To The Exotics Series" involve unique programming. Each program explores a
different theme. Some of the programs in the Series include "La Pasión",
"The Chinese Journey" and "All That Jazz". These concerts explore
collaborations with other instrumentalists as well as artists from different mediums. They
always promote music of our time while maintaining the virtue of traditional classics.
