Voyage - A Folk Tale
New York, NY: Cellist Wendy Law, who is
currently in the Artist Diploma Program at the
Juilliard School, will be presenting "Voyage-A Folk Tale", as part
of "Voyage To The Exotics Series" on May 15 at 8pm in Morse Hall, the Juilliard
School. Following the debut of "La Pasion" of "Voyage to the
Exotics" Series, "Voyage-A Folk Tale" marks
the new and exciting program of the
series. The concert features folk influenced music by Schumann, Janacek,
Bright Sheng, and Bartok, interwoven by a newly written folk story told
by writer and actress Mahira Kakkar. With the addition of new music by composer
Nora Korll-Rosenbaum, and breathtaking choreography by choreographer and
dancer Vernon Gooden, the collaborations create a multi-dimensional collage
of music, dance and theatre. Other special guest includes pianist Ying-Chien
Lin.

programming. Each program explores a
different theme. Some of the programs in the Series include "La Pasión"
