Voyage To The Exotics Series

In addition to the traditional recitals, Ms. Law ventures into a new genre of music making. Her interdisciplinary thematic Series “Voyage To The Exotics” explore collaborations with other instrumentalists as well as artists from different mediums including composers, dancers, choreographers, actors, writers and other instrumentalists. The programs always promote music of our time while maintaining the virtue of traditional classics. The programs can be performed with or without the collaborations:

The concert features folk influenced music by Schumann, Janacek, Bright Sheng, and Bartok, interwoven by a newly written folk story told by writer and actress Mahira Kakkar. With the addition of new music by composer Nora Korll-Rosenbaum, and breathtaking choreography by choreographer and dancer Vernon Gooden, the collaborations create a multi-dimensional collage of music, dance and theatre.

2) "La Pasion"- features sensual cello music from Spain to South America, exploring melodious Mexican and Brazilian songs, the passion of the Tango, and the unique rhythms of Spanish dances. "La Pasion" includes works by Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla, Ravel, and De Falla.
